        Plant Jungle

        Midvale, Utah

                   Bonnie Dallimore

Bringing People Closer to the Wonders of the Earth

When Bonnie Dallimore first saw a simple version of a corner planter her brother had invented, and how it added a new dimension to a standard corner, she saw a compelling business opportunity. Working with her father, they developed a way to produce the planter with a variety of wood veneers. With the help of a Utah microenterprise loan in 1998, Bonnie and her sister, under the original business name of Design Marketing and Manufacturing, announced the initial launch of their first two products - The Corner Planter and The Corner Shelf.

“We would not be where we are today without the support of the UMLF.”

- Bonnie Dallimore

Since then, in response to changing market demand, the company has evolved into The Plant Jungle , a full-service plant provider offering plants, a variety of container options, supplies, service and solutions to both commercial and residential customers. Fifteen years ago, Bonnie stated that her products “sell themselves once people actually see them and visualize how they can be accessorized to complement any home setting”, and it is still true today.

Located at 2194 East Fort Union Blvd. in Salt Lake, The Plant Jungle has floor, ceiling, wall, corner and outdoor planters in a variety of finishes including stone, metal, wood marble, resin and wicker. They also carry live and silk plants and trees, bonsais, cacti, bamboo and fresh flowers. If you’re looking for something unique, they have dried flowers, custom arrangements, statues, metal wall art and artists’ design work. You will also find gift items such as bamboo and bonsai gardens, candles, herb lotions, gemstone jewelry and beautiful windchimes. A $10,000 microenterprise loan in 2003 enabled The Plant Jungle to purchase even more unique inventory.

If you are looking for something special for your home or office, Bonnie will be happy to visit with you and help you create a wonderfully warm environment, providing a sense of tranquility that truly inspires the soul.

You can reach The Plant Jungle at ( 801) 453-9500 or at via e-mail at plantjungle@yahoo.com . Better yet, stop in and visit Bonnie to learn how a microenterprise loan helped her fulfill her small business dreams!
